When taking warfarin you can perform all normal daily activities, but you may be at risk of bleeding if you are injured. Certain situations can pose a greater risk if you are taking warfarin, so you may wish to limit recreation that increases the likelihood of injury.

Report to your doctor any:

• Falls
• Car accidents
• Any bruises
• Blows to the head or body
• Other major injuries, not all injuries have visible signs

Make certain that caregivers and all health care providers (including dentists) are aware of your warfarin use. If you are unsure which sports or activities are safe for you, ask your doctor.

For Emergencies

If you have an emergency injury or become ill and need to contact emergency services, ambulance staff will need to know that you are taking warfarin.
