High fever, aches and pains, chills and low energy levels are just a few symptoms of what this year’s flu can bring. Those most at risk include: senior citizens, people with disabilities, children, people with existing medical conditions and those how travel. Your chance of getting the flu range from 5-20% depending on your health and something as simple as washing your hands and avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.1

The flu shot is recommended by all higher risk patients and offered by physician offices as well an expanding number of retail pharmacy chains.

Patients taking warfarin should make their flu shot or flu mist appointment now through their doctor’s office this month. It is not conclusive on whether the flu vaccine has an impact or influence on your INR test results. The benefit will last throughout the flu season which runs from the fall through the spring.
