Helpful hints suggested by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) ease navigation of airport security for travelers with a medical condition or assistive devices.

For warfarin patients using the home INR monitoring meter, you can pack your INR testing device, supply of test strips, lancets, sharps disposal container (if available), and medications in your carry-on bag through security.

As a customer service, the TSA now allows the traveler the option of verbally requesting a visual inspection of the supplies and device. This must be done prior to the medications and device being placed in the X-ray machine. Medications are not required to be labeled, but this helps with identification during screening.
